Tony Treadaway.jpgAN ARMY Cadet volunteer from Hanworth has been recognised for his outstanding leadership, energy and drive.

Staff Sergeant Tony Treadaway, who currently serves at 197 Feltham Detachment (Royal Regiment of Fusiliers), was presented with the Jack Petchey Outstanding Youth Leader Award on Monday (January 30).

A former Army Cadet himself, Tony, of Nene Gardens, decided to rejoin as an adult leader when he was too old to remain as a cadet.

He said: "This is a huge honour and something of a surprise too. I was completely unaware and I'm just very proud to be on the receiving end of this award."

The Award, which was presented by Honorary Colonel Adrian Drage OBE, was set up to enable schools and youth organisations to honour the dedication and commitment of staff and volunteers.

We'd like to hear from you.
