Feltham youngster heads to public speaking competition national final
A FELTHAM Community College Student has taken top spot at the regional final of a public speaking competition.
Shawnee Nash beat off competition from across the borough to win the Hounslow Regional final of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge! 2011-12.
Shawnee will now progress to the Grand Final of the competition on July 2, where she will compete for over £15,000 worth of prizes.
She said: "I'm so, so, so happy. I don't think anyone has won from my school before. I feel truly honoured and privileged."
Second place at the regional final went to Nadine Bailey from Brentford School for Girls, which hosted the event. Third place went to Louise Sibley, also from Brentford School.
