Feltham level crossing closed

Posted by Jonathan Schofield on Jan 26, 12 10:10 AM in

THE level crossing at Feltham Station has been closed for a full upgrade and will be out of action until Monday, February 6.

The work is being carried out by Network Rail and will involve the complete removal of the existing barriers and control equipment.

This means that, unlike the usual routine maintenance closures, the crossing will also be closed for cyclists and pedestrians.

Vehicles and cycles will be diverted via New Road and the A244 Hounslow Road and traffic signal timings will be adjusted to reduce delays as much as possible.

Pedestrians can use the footbridge adjacent to the level crossing, the footbridge and ramp into The Centre, which will be available for use 24-hours a day, or the route via the footways on New Road and Hounslow Road.

During the day the contractor working for Network Rail will have operatives on hand to offer assistance to anyone who has mobility difficulties to help and escort them around the closure, either through The Centre or via the lifts within Feltham Station itself.

For more information regarding the works call Network Rail's National Helpline on 08457 114141.

We'd like to hear from you.
