'Monster' jailed for £9m drug-dealing plot

HOU3011 mcfar.JPGA bodybuilder nicknamed 'Monster' has been jailed for five years for running a £9m heroin-dealing ring.

Warren McFarlane, of Southern Avenue, Feltham, admitted intending to supply 75 kilograms of the class A drug at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday November 27.

The court heard how the muscle-bound 28-year-old teamed up with a personal trainer at his gym, Marlene Nkore, and kept drugs at her flat in Bridge Road, Wembley.

McFarlane was under police surveillance on May 29 when he left Nkore's flat carrying a green carrier bag. He was stopped 20 yards from the front door by officers who found the bag contained twelve A4-sized, clear vacuum-packed envelopes, each with a compressed heroin inside.

He was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs and when asked what the substance was, he replied: "I don't know, I just deliver them."

The flat was then searched and officers found 75 kilograms of heroin and drug paraphernalia including scales, face masks, a cash counter and a metal press.

Whilst officers were carrying out the search, Nkore arrived at the address claiming she lived there. She was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs and, in interview, said that she had known McFarlane, aka 'Monster', for about two years from the gym where she worked but thought he was 'dodgy'.

However, in court Nkore, 23, admitted intent to supply heroin and was jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Detective Inspector Colin Stephenson said: "This operation successfully removed a major consignment of class A drugs from the streets of London and has made a significant dent in the availability of heroin across the capital. Seizures of this scale prevent criminals from profiting and in turn, impact the wider harm that comes from the illegal drugs trade."

We'd like to hear from you.

Wonderful news - but I still find it disturbing that you can get 2 and a half years for selling drugs, when some monstrous people are getting less than that for violent crime.
