Lorry overturns in Ashford Road in Feltham
This is the scene after a lorry overturned in Ashford Road, Lower Feltham on Tuesday morning.
The HGV was heading towards Ashford from Feltham when it left the road after a sharp bend and careered into the bushes, knocking over trees and a lampost.
The driver is believed to have been taken to hospital but the extent of his injuries is not known at present.
The lorry had still not been moved by 6pm and the road was shut for hours following the crash, causing traffic chaos well into the rush hour.
Tom Shannon, who lives in Ashford, was driving towards Feltham at about midday when he came across the wreckage.
He said: "It's a little snakey bend and I can only assume the driver didn't know the area and just went around the bend a little too fast. I just hope he's OK.
"They had stopped the traffic coming from Feltham when I went past but I think it was shut in both directions later on that day."
