HOU18.05-bgt2.jpgA 15-year-old girl who shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent has signed a record deal but said 'hands off' to her young male fans because she's got a boyfriend.

More than a million people have watched Demi Bennetts and Megan McKenna's performances as Harmony on the video website Youtube - support that was enough to have record companies vying for their signatures.

They wowed the judges on the ITV show before being eliminated in the semi-finals but last week Demi, of Redford Close, Feltham and pal Megan, from Essex, put pen to paper on a three-album contract with SoundBytes Media.

The girls are constantly recognised on the street and get up to 100 friend requests on social networking site Facebook every day - many of whom are teenage boys hoping to get a date with the potential superstars.

But Demi told the Chronicle: "I get lots of boys asking me if I've got a boyfriend and I have. His name's Ryan and we've been going out for nearly a year so the message to all them is 'hands off'.

"We are so excited about the record deal. I just want to sing and perform all the time and be noticed. I was in Tesco in Feltham the other day and these boys shouted: 'Go Harmony'. I love it when people support us."

The girls, who go to stage school in Hammersmith, are hoping to go into the studio in the next few weeks to record their debut single, which will be out before Christmas.
The plan is to release an album of original material, possibly with one or two cover versions, early next year.

Owner of SoundBytes Media Chris Palmer said: "In all honesty, Harmony are not the sort of thing as a record company we usually go after but there is something about them that says these girls have really got potential to do something.
"They give off such a great aura and I think they have got a great career ahead of them."

We'd like to hear from you.
