Sonal and Vinod Patel reach new heights
Feltham Rotary Club member Vinod Patel and wife Sonal, a member of Feltham's Inner Wheel, reached new heights when they climbed the mast of the Jubilee Sailing Trust vessel Tenacious when it moored at St Katherine's Dock during a recent visit to London.
After a tour below decks the intrepid duo donned safety harnesses and swiftly climbed aloft on one of Tenacious' masts that rise a majestic 40 metres from the deck.
Members of the Feltham Club paid a visit to the ship following the sponsorship of local teenager Stuart Langdon a student at Longford Community School.
The Jubilee Sailing Trust is one of the initiatives that Feltham Rotary uses to encourage young people to achieve a personal best. Obviously, it comes in handy with their own
members as well.
By the way if you're wondering where you've seen Vinod before - imagine him in a white coat with a pair of stethoscopes around his neck! He was a local GP at St. David's Practice until his recent retirement but he is now concentrating his medical expertise on Rotary's End Polio Now campaign.
