Feltham kids play to the tune of royal orchestra

HOU03.06-roypo.JPGChildren at Feltham Hill Infant school have been playing to the tune of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) this week.

Musicians from the world-famous ensemble held workshops for Year 1 pupils at the Bedfont Road school on Tuesday and Wednesday, culminating in a joint performance on Wednesday afternoon.

The musicians composed two songs based around poems the children had written about toys and parents were treated to a joint performance from the RPO and their children at the school.

Deputy head teacher Noreen Williams said: "It was a huge success. I think the children were very inspired both by the instruments and the tuition they were given over the two days. It was just a wonderful experience for them."
