CCTV cameras that recognise your face, read your number plate and even speak to you could be introduced in Feltham town centre.

Proposals to install new cameras in the area around the High Street and the station are due to be discussed by Hounslow councillors on Tuesday(5). High-tech options being considered include automatic number plate recognition, facial recognition, thermal imaging and speakers to communicate with criminals.

IF YOU hear any girly screams coming from the North Feltham Trading estate next week, chances are it will be these two burly truckers.

The pair are preparing for some painful preening as they sacrifice their prime body hair in a charity wax off.

"We've been asked whether we are going to go all the way but I think, speaking for the ladies who are going to be waxing us, we better keep it all above the belt," said John Byrne, a driver for Heathrow firm SDV Bernard.

She'll be at the store at Unit 3, Manor Park High Street from 10am to 4pm to demonstrate her techniques, and she says being a responsible owner is not hard - although it does require commitment.

Monica Weller(1).jpg
Monica Weller, ghost writer of "Ruth Ellis - my sister's secret life" by Muriel Jakubait, was the guest speaker at Feltham Inner Wheel's Inter-Club Tea.
Ruth Ellis was the last woman to be hanged in Britain fifty years ago convicted of shooting her lover David Blakely. The story has been perpetuated of a peroxide tart who killed in a fit of passion and the case has become a notorious part of British criminal history.
In her entertaining talk, Monica Weller says crucial questions were left unasked at the trial and that the story was more about an establishment cover up. New facts show conclusively that Ruth Ellis was an associate of Stephen Ward before his name was ever linked to the Profumo affair, a scandal that brought down the Conservative government of the day. Miss Weller suggests that someone else pulled the trigger on that fateful night and that Ruth Ellis was caught up in something much bigger and ended up paying with her life.
Miss Weller's appearance was arranged by the Inner Wheel Club to support fund raising on behalf of their President's Project.
President Beryl Meeson is pleased to announce that £450 has been raised for "Sailability" - a charity to aid the disabled to go sailing.
