Feltham jeep couple to sue over accident

A British man and his eight year old daughter were killed in the accident and seven others were seriously injured.

Mr Singh, 29, said: "I was thrown out of the vehicle, along with other passengers. I landed on my face and I was knocked unconscious.

"When I came round, I was immediately worried about my wife. Fortunately, she was not thrown off the jeep and she only suffered minor cuts and bruises."

Mr Singh was treated at a local hospital for a broken nose, jaw, cheekbone and several teeth, and had to have his jaw wired.

"I was deeply saddened to learn that two holidaymakers were killed in the accident," he said. "I am extremely thankful to be alive, but it has been a very traumatic experience. I still have to receive treatment for the injuries I sustained."

The majority of the 11 passengers in the vehicle were participants in a day-long 'Jeep Safari' tour run by Turkish company Sarigerme Tours Travel Agency and the Singh's are now planning to sue them for negligence and dangerous driving.

A spokesman for Sarigerme tours said: "We do confirm that this tragic freak accident did occur, however we strongly disagree that this was careless driving on the part of the driver. The case at the present time is in the hands of the authorities."

The Singhs are being represented by Clive Garner, head of travel law specialists at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, who is currently carrying out further enquiries with the Turkish police and the Foreign Office to find out more about the incident.
