Luaghing thugs made two schoolchildren jump up and down on the spot after threatening them with screwdrivers.

The 13-year-old victims were walking along Carlton Avenue, Feltham, on September 12 at about 7.20pm when the robbers stopped them.

This week saw a middle of the road set of results for Feltham Youth FC's teams with nine wins, six defeats and two draws for the club.

"We can not afford to let another year of kids down," said Victoria Eadie, who took over at the Hounslow college three weeks ago.

"The changes have begun and the improvements will be dramatic and fast. I am 100 per cent sure exam results will reach more acceptable levels by next summer."

ta-old.jpgThis year the Territorial Army is celebrating its centenary in its present form. Down the ages there has long been a band of men, and indeed women, who have volunteered to assist armies at times of crisis and war.

In order to regulate this, the Army Reserve Act of 1803 was introduced to Parliament by Lord Addington, who was concerned at the shortfall in army recruitment. 30,000 men came forward for the new Volunteer Army, spending their time at work in the week, and training with the military at the weekend.

Awareness of climate change and the need to protect the environment is growing and is not restricted to any one section of the community.

On Saturday, October 4, Hounslow Friends of Faith is bringing together speakers and displays from different faiths to challenge and inspire people to do their bit for the environment.

minns.jpgViolent youths who brutally knifed two partygoers in Hanworth this summer will go unpunished unless the teenagers who were there start telling the truth.

This is the claim of Det Insp Jeff Minns, who is leading the investigation into the double stabbing. He said his officers were powerless to move the case forward until revellers from the ill-fated party on July 19 admitted exactly what they had seen.

lower-feltham-lakes.jpgA Green Belt idyll in a 'forgotten corner' of Feltham could be totally transformed under early proposals which could potentially add a massive 1,000 new homes to the town.

For years the former gravel pits, off Chertsey Road, have sat empty with only the occasional visit from members of Feltham Angling Club to break the peace.

But last Friday a large white marquee went up on the overgrown site, known as Lower Feltham Lakes, as residents from nearby homes flocked to view the proposals.
