Now, that's what I call a jetwash!
Firefighters at Feltham Station defied the gloom to raise £500 at a charity car wash on Sunday.
Officers from the Blue Watch scrubbed and polished about 60 cars at £5 a pop, but the owners were so impressed many donated extra cash to the Shooting Star Children's Hospice in Hampton.
Phil Watkins, the officer in charge of Blue Watch, praised colleagues Richard Parsons, Lee Porter and crew manager Luke Rowson for organising the successful fundraiser.
"It was very rewarding and we got a great response from the public," he said.
"We were hoping to raise about £1,000 but the weather didn't help.
"As well as washing cars, we gave a lot of fire safety advice and got nearly 40 referrals from people without smoke alarms, which was a bonus."
Firefighters are already planning a similar event next year, when they will be hoping for clearer skies.
